So, you want to be more Productive? My 5 favorite tips

I was thinking the other day how we are all different and how our dreams about being more productive have to also be very different.

Don’t get caught up in someone else’s productivity dream!. 

So, before you dive head in into this article, there is a foundation that needs to be laid out strong and sturdy. You will get there by asking yourself these two questions:

1. Why do I want to be productive? and

2. How being more productive will look like in my life?

Once I had a clear vision of my productivity dream the tips I’m sharing with you today were key for transformation to happen.

I guarantee, trying  at least one of these tips will transform you into a more effective and fulfilled productive person.

I invite you to grab a pad and start writing all the answers to those 2 questions that come to your mind. Writing vs thinking makes a huge difference. As you start writing stay close to the quality and the feeling. When describing how your life/day will look like use adjetives instead of nouns. For example; As I approach my daily tasks I feel calmed, instead of, my daily tasks have to be performed in my desk with a coffee in hand.

Productivity, has a false connotation of “doing”, I truly think is more about “being” don’t you think?,  When I focus on who I am being as I do my tasks I feel not only productive but also effective and fulfilled. As if besides getting things done I’m also transforming myself for the better.

My favorite 5 tips for being more productive: (explained in more detail on the video)

Have a system in place. Bring some structure to your tasks. Notice when your system is not serving you anymore and adjust as you go.

Daily select your MIT before hand. MIT stands for “most important tasks”. I like selecting them the night before or sometimes on the weekend. Selecting one or max. two works best for me.

Know where you are in the Fantasy Spectrum. How attached you are to your daily productivity fantasy is directly proportional to how productive you are. If you know your level of fantasy is easier to bring you closer to reality.

Saying NO more often. Specially to activities that are not COMPLETELY aligned with your life intention, purpose or mission.

Intuition Let intuition guide you more. Find silence and space through out your day. They are key for busting productivity

Ok so now, I want to share my  productivity dream with all of you.

Why do I want to be more productive?

To be peace and joy and to be able to help other people.

How being productive will look like in my life?

For most days being productive will look like single tasking through the day focusing on work that matters and benefits others (for example this video, my illustrations, etc). As I do my work I feel calm, balanced, trusting that I’m focusing on an activity that will elevate me (and others) to my higher self. I’m also able to take breaks, eat mindfully, exercise, practice good habits consciously, read, be present and active in my relationships and sleep the amount of hours needed. But most importantly I am be able to be flexible and adjust as I go.
