Feeling stressed out? Become Calm and Balanced with this quick Daily Practice

Who doesn’t feel stressed out? We are all so prone to stress now a days.

My friend Nicole from Ghostkitten and I hosted our Mindful Gathering last night, it went really well. I really needed that time for my self in community.

By the way, if you live in LA (or if you are visiting), you are cordially invited to meditate with us and be part of our warm and intimate community. Anyways, yesterday I noticed how relevant and important is this morning practice (I’m sharing it on this video post) to relief me from stress and sooth my day into calmness.

This easy morning habit can help us do just that! -However, remember, habits need cultivation and care. See this practice like the piggy bank analogy. You practice everyday (put $ everyday) when the time comes when you need your practice to back you up (savings) you will have a bank to withdraw from it instantly and it will hold you and support you always.

 What did you think? easy enough right!

Many of my plans changed last minute last night and what could have been a very stressful day for me years ago, was yet another opportunity to bring mindfulness into my practice… And ahhhh it felt so good to be able to rely on it! The best part is that I didn’t need to change any of the circumstances (not that I have that power anyways) to feel that peace of mind.

One of my favorite realizations in life was when I discovered that Stress is directly proportional to how much I argue with reality, that is to say with how much I choose to attach myself to my own expectations.

But – you would ask. How can we get rid of expectations?

I don’t think we can entirely, I also think we aren’t suppose to vanish them. What we can do is cultivate habits that will allows us to bring mindfulness to those moments where there seems to be lack. Through practicing being the observer and not the victim of our expectations we can find a better way through the apparent problem and we can then act more appropriately allowing our loving essence to come forth.
